Let's Have a Walk in Bet She'an
This semester I have a very interesting class about documentary in Bet She'an in the North of Israel and I want you to accompany me to this excursion in the following posts into this city.
Beisan, then an Arab village, became jewish after Israels independence in 1948 and the arab residents fled direction Jordan. 1949, a refugee camp for North African Jewish immigrants was constructed and Bet She'an became a development city.
These three following neglected sites are located in the old part of the city. They even seem to hide a whole world inside you once discover when you enter or open a closes door - unexpected treasure. I am making up my own visions of what happened to these places, why they are empty now, who lived there before, how these people are and where they are gone to. Now nature is taking over, birds and plants are living there and give these places a second life. They are peacefull places, full of history, maybe sad, but they have so much beauty for me and it makes me really curious about Bet She'an. Do you know what I mean?
