Arrival Days in Hadar

During my first days in Haifa I tried to get around and see familiar places and familiar faces from my last trip in September 2013. One of the places I have spend many hours last year was a café in Nordau street, close to Herzl street. Last year I told the owner that I am pretty sure that we will meet again and that I will come back next year - he did not believed that I am that serious. Now I am happy that I hold my promise. I was wondering if this café called Nard café is still there and how does it look like, if it is more popular and if the owner will recognize me. He did! The picture above is one snapshot I took during my urban walk around in the area. I was happy to see this unique place after one year again and I think it is still the only nice place in Nordau street. I had the strong wish to help him somehow to get more clients because I see so much potential in this café. There shouldn't be just Masada street in Hadar area for cafés, bars and boutiques. The Nordau street is designed for a pedestrian area but these days a pretty lonely space, "not recommended at night" as friends told me. I am convinced that people just need to get to know this place - either with more advertisment or special events to attract people to come. This is how I got to know a nice graphic design student who just moved to Haifa-Hadar in the summer and he had the same enthusiastic idea with this café and how we create event ideas for this place.

The first Friday noon Hummus event started on the 17th of October, just the weekend before the classes at the Technion started. Everybody who was involved was pretty excited about. Many happy faces came to eat, drink, talk, buy, share ideas and to listen. A first successfull friday.
